EA6 linear power supply dedicated to Eversolo DMP-A6 network players.
This version is dedicated for USA & Canada (compatible only with North American mains 120V AC networks).
Intended for installation inside the device as plug & play installation – replacing the factory switching power supply without any additional modifications. Compared to the factory smpsu, it offers a significant reduction in power supply noise to a level 20 uVrms (tests below) and additionally reduces EMI and RFI interference from the built-in switching power supply – which has a very positive effect on the quality of the sound reproduced by the device.

Positive rail voltage of the power supply, load 1.2 A (factory display backlight, NVMe drive installed)
Factory smpsu noise: 800 uVrms, pk-pk voltage: 7 mV
EA6 power supply noise: 15 uVrms, pk-pk voltage: < 0.17 mV
Negative rail voltage of the power supply, load 180 mA
Factory smpsu noise: 130 uVrms, pk-pk voltage: 1.2 mV
EA6 power supply noise: 20 uVrms, pk-pk voltage: < 0.3 mV
* – with load of 0.8A to 1A for positive rail AC RMS noise is 680 uVrms for factory SMPSU – which corresponds to 45x times noise reduction.
Additional notes:
- Installing the power supply may invalidate the device’s warranty, but the installation itself is fully reversible and we can restore the factory power supply at any time.
- Linear power supplies generate heat as standard “waste” when regulating voltage, so the device must be properly ventilated. The temperature of the device during normal use in a ventilated space is about 36 Celsius deg. (ambient temperature 22 Celcius deg.).
- The current efficiency of the power supply also allows the use of additional disks or drives without the need for additional external power supply – however, we recommend using only drives with low energy consumption. If an NVME drive and an additional external USB drive are to be connected to the device at the same time, in order to avoid psu overload and reduce thermal losses we recommend lowering the front display backlight level to a maximum of 30% and the knob backlight level to 10%
- Due to the lack of availability of appropriate integraded sockets from the LECI manufacturer (such socket was used in the original power supply) in European wholesalers, the EA6 power supply uses a solution consisting of two elements – a separate socket and a separate “Rocker” switch. The power socket and switch are located in place of the factory integrated socket and after installation, normal access from the outside is possible. The factory hole in the rear panel is not fully filled – about 15% of its surface remains open.
